Your responsibilities

Reporting to the Corporate HR Manager, responsible for all plant Human Resource functions and activities. Assist all salaried personnel and union plant employees as needed. Promote all Human Resource initiatives, policies and programs.

Job Duties include;

·  Recruit, interview, hire and orientate all hourly plant personnel.
·  Assist and make recommendations in the hiring of salaried personnel. Conduct salaried personnel orientation.
·  Ensure all compensation, benefits and EHS programs are administered in accordance with company policy and all state and federal regulations. Create and make commendations in the development and enhancement of such policies.
·  Assist, monitor, recommend and log training of all plant personnel.
·  Oversee weekly hourly payroll functions.
·  Assist in the counseling, assessment, promotion, demotion, and/or pay changes for all plant personnel.
·  Review performance of direct reports, recommend training and merit pay increases.
·  Maintain attendance records and scrap records for all hourly employees.
·  Attend seminars/training as needed to stay abreast of current laws and regulations affecting Human Resource functions.
·  Maintain all Worker’s Compensation/ OSHA records and assist in the timely and most effective disposition of WC claims.
·  Conduct and participate in area salary/benefit surveys in order to remain competitive in appropriate job market.
·  Proactively manage a positive working relationship between management and union employees through developing or counseling management personnel and responding to employee complaints/union grievances in an effective and timely manner.
·  Assist in the layoff , discharge or terminations of all plant personnel. Respond to and maintain documents related to unemployment insurance claims.
·  Insure the timely flow and process of paperwork initiatied through the administrative staff.
·  Assist in contract negotiations. Participate in regularly scheduled union/management meetings and grievance process.

Your profile

Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree in related field, HR professional certifications preferred.
·  Three to five years of related HR generalist experience with proven knowledge of EEO, NLRB, OSHA, ADAAA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPPA/HITECH, COBRA and other related governmental regulations and requirements.
·  Understanding of cost calculation and continuous improvement measurements.
·  Must possess a courteous and professional demeanor, excellent verbal/written communication and problem solving skills.
·  Ability to maintain integrity of highly confidential information.
·  Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
