Sr. Performance Test Engineer (LoadRunner, JMeter)

Overview

The Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for implementing Performance Testing best practices. It is expected that the candidate will collaborate with the Software Development and the Business Owners/Customers as needed to obtain testing specifications and deliver performance testing results. This individual may also help on any project where performance testing assistance is requested.

Functions

• Establish a reliable load testing process that can be predictive of production performance and utilized to address load related issues prior to launching major releases.

• Plans, creates, maintains and reviews Load and Performance tests using HP Performance Center

• Collaborate with engineering and product management to articulate the non-functional requirements of the product(s).

• Develop and execute performance test scripts, record and manage performance related defects and communicate the results in an effective manner.

• Interact with Development, production operations, infrastructure and other groups to present, isolate and resolve performance issues.

• Validate and document product performance across releases to show how overall performance is trending as we continue to roll out new features or make updates.

Desired profile

Basic Qualifications:

4+ years of performance testing and test automation using Performance Center and/or LoadRunner

2+ years of experience in testing scalable, web-based products

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Expertise in performing load and stress testing and performance analysis

• Experience with multiple protocols supported by Performance Center

• Able to work independently on concurrent projects

• Experience with JMeter, Java and migration from LoadRunner to JMeter-based testing environment

• Can collaborate with Development Team to troubleshoot bottlenecks found in error logs

• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

• Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with software engineers and business analysts.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
