Job description

The Candidate will become a member of a team tasked with the development of systems and/or tools used to create, manage, and publish content for our Regulatory Intelligence platform.The Candidate must have an excellent understanding of software engineering quality practices, Agile practices and methodologies as well as structured development methods. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment within a project/program oriented organizational structure where Agile practices are employed to manage production and delivery. Candidate will be expected to participate in all areas of the software development life cycle including refinement of stories with the business, high level and detail story point estimation, high and low level design of the system, actual coding of the system including applicable automated unit tests, as well as system testing of individual components.

Primary Responsibilities

· Design, develop and deliver components for internal applications.
· Develop server based software with ReST web services which process XML returning XML and JSON
· Develop client application components using Javascript, JQuery and AJAX
· Work in an Agile, collaborative environment actively participating in all scrum ceremonies; Identify opportunities for improvement and offer new ideas to the team for improving our processes
· As a member of the operational support team provide rapid response and resolution to the business teams for production issues (May include off-hour support)
· Generate innovative approaches and solutions to technology challenges

Desired profile

· Bachelor"s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience computer systems analysis and programming
· 1 – 2 years Java programming experience or coursework
· Experience with object-oriented design and development
· Experience with design and development of web based applications using ReSTful services, JSON, XML, Ajax, Javascript, CSS
· Working knowledge of XML parsing and processing
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Self-motivated and self-directed
· Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively
Additional Experience Preferred
· Experience using JEE, Spring Framework, and Dependency injection
· Experience with SOAP and WSDL Web Service
· Experience with XSLT
· Experience with Unit testing frameworks and technologies
· Familiarity with the Eclipse IDE
· Experience using OO and JEE design patterns
· Able to work with a team to meet a common goal
· Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver to commitment
