Job Summary: The Intellectual Property and Science (IP&S) division of Thomson Reuters (TR) provides intelligent information and solutions to corporations, government agencies and academic institutions. We are currently seeking a Proposal Coordinator/Writer to join our Global Sales Operations Team to immediately create the capacity and capability to improve our responses to proposals while working across Thomson Reuters to understand best practices that build to an Enterprise capability.IP&S will create an integrated shared service organization dedicated to coordinating proposal responses to corporate, academic and government RFPs and RFIs, as well as responding to customer inquiries surrounding security/technology questionnaires and forms, certifications, and disclosures. Our work environment is collaborative, flexible, fun, fast-paced, and deadline driven.The Proposal Coordinator/Writer will be responsible for: (1) managing and creating proposal-related materials used in response to both formal and informal customer proposal requests from corporate, academic and government clients; (2) implementing, populating, and maintaining an electronic repository of content that can be leveraged for future RFPs and inquiries from customers; (3) working with the Project Lead in the TR Transformation Office who will focus on the development of a common TR RFP response process, implementing a shared technology platform to support process efficiency and repeatability, facilitating best practice sharing and collaboration across the business units, communicating with and training stakeholders in the sales and marketing organizations, and ultimately materially increasing IP&S's and TR's RFP win rate. The Project governance model requires active support and participation by each business unit leadership team, and demands that resources allocated to the business units be available to support both RFP response requirements and overall Project objectives.This position requires a combination of technical aptitude, technical and/or proposal writing experience, an understanding of IP&S products, excellent writing skills, as well as expert knowledge of Microsoft Word. Responsibilities: Proposal Writing ·Effectively understand requirements and create accurate, complete and customer-focused responses to formal RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, informal proposals, and other procurement vehicles from academic institutions, corporations as well as federal, state, and local government entities. This includes support of IP&S global customers. ·Take the lead role in coordinating and drafting responses to formal RFPs and informal proposals for core products. Schedule, facilitate, and actively participate in bid strategy sessions with RFP response team. Assign action items/deliverables, and summarize meetings. Ensure that all proposal deadlines (internal and external) are met. ·Collaborate heavily with key internal business partners such as Sales, Operations, Legal, Finance, Design & Manage, Build & Operate, and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to drive the proposal strategy and create a compelling proposal. ·Generate proposal response, accurately incorporate edits from SMEs, business partners, and reviewers; and ensure compliance with RFP requirements including forms. Coordinate and produce final proposal documents (hard copy and electronic), and ensure successful delivery by proposal deadline. ·Effectively communicate with contracting officers, purchasing officers, buyers, and other contracting personnel with respect to offeror's questions, proposal delivery, clarification requests, BAFO/proposal revision, contract award, post-award debriefing, and other procurement-related steps. ·Promote consistency, and professionalism in all proposal responses. ·Contribute to the ongoing development of best practices and streamlining of processes and tools to effectively manage the ever-increasing volume of workflow ·Stay abreast of changes and trends in the industry and new product development and acquisitions Repository Management / Content Curation · Assist in the implementation, creation, maintenance and enhancement of an electronic repository of standard proposal content utilized for RFPs, RFIs, sole source, and other contracting and procurement processes. ·Collaborate with product experts and SMEs to regularly update the electronic repository to ensure that all product descriptions and technical pieces reflect the most current developments and enhancements. ·Answer inquiries from customers and internal business partners using repository database. Customize existing repository text for proposal responses. ·Create new repository content for new products and craft new responses to new questions from RFPs and/or security questionnaires. Desired profile

Qualifications/Experience: ·4 year college degree required; BA or BS degree preferably in English, marketing, technical writing, communications or journalism. ·Three or more years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or similar experience. ·Expertise with Microsoft Word and strong PC skills. ·Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills; ability to learn about new products/technologies. ·Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. ·Proven project management skills; ability to work under pressure to manage multiple priorities with often competing and tight deadlines. ·Strong editing skills required. ·Demonstrated drive, initiative, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced changing environment and to adapt creatively and successfully to change. ·Demonstrated soft skills, including the ability to effectively interact, communicate, and work well as a team member with internal and external partners at all levels of the organization globally. ·Investigative and problem-solving skills and ability to work across boundaries. ·Strong attention to detail. ·Must possess a high level of integrity and professionalism. ·Willing to devote additional work hours as required by the business. Preferred Skills: · Experience writing and coordinating RFPs or RFIs. ·Prior experience in information technology, software and/or financial services industry experience. ·Experience working with a nationwide or global sales organization. ·Membership in a professional organization such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals). ·Experience with proposal presentation software (e.g., Qvidian) and/or database repository.
