Role Summary

A motivated individual is required to join the Infrastructure group which looks after Thomson Reuters' financial markets transactions products.
The Network Analyst will be responsible for supporting existing network, network security and storage infrastructure as well as some project work supporting new deployments. A deep understanding of networking and firewalling principles is needed for the role, understanding VMware or any of the virtualization technologies would be highly beneficial.

Main Responsibilities:

The development datacenter is based in Nottingham, London and Hauppauge. Working within the network team, main tasks include configuration, management and support of Cisco (Catalyst and Nexus), firewalls (Checkpoint, ASA, Palo Alto, OpenBSD), F5 load balancers, NetApp NAS, EMC (CLARiiON) environments and support of production networks. Provide technical advice into other team members as well as business/project teams and write technical documentation where required.

Essential Skills/Experience Required:

•    Configuration, management and support of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems – IP configuration and routing
•    Configuration, management and support of any of the firewalling solutions (can be open source)
•    Deep understanding of network services especially DHCP and DNS
•    Understanding of network clustering/high availability
•    Troubleshooting layer 3 network issues
•    Deep understanding of ISO/OSI model and TCP/IP
•    Good practical skills with Unix or Linux platform (any)
•    VMWare technologies or OS platforms (esp. Unix/Linux) would be a bonus

Education/ Certifications:

•    CCNA/CCNP
•    CCSA/CCSE
•    Palo Alto
•    CISSP/CEH
