JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will work with a tier one investment bank Operations team to a high profile strategic project. Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm's assets and its reputation.

The Equity Derivative Operations Group offers operational support and product expertise to the Volatility and Exotic Trading Desks, Private Investor Products Group and the Synthetic Product Group after a client trades derivatives. The organization functions in a variety of capacities including new system design and implementation, reconciliation between the firm's books and records and front end risk systems, confirmation that trades booked have accurate details which have been agreed with the clients/counterparties, and analysis and implementation of process and workflow changes to address regulatory reform.
The Equity Derivative Documentation team is responsible for retrieving trade confirmations from clients, negotiating agreements pertaining to Equity Derivative transactions, producing trade confirmations and on-boarding clients to electronic matching platforms in a timely manner by adhering to regulatory requirements. It is an area that is continually evolving to keep pace with changes driven by the business, markets and regulatory environment. The successful candidate for the Negotiations team will be a quick learner, flexible, enthusiastic, client service oriented as well as focused on control, accuracy and maximizing efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Negotiate Master Confirmation Agreements (“MCAs”) for Equity Derivative products (ISDA published and in- house MCAs, vanilla and structured templates) with counterparties
• Liaise with Legal, Trading and Sales to agree documentation with Counterparties
• Timely resolve mark-ups on outstanding trade confirmations
• Resolving queries and exceptions where necessary, understanding the importance of effective escalation
• Participate on Industry & ISDA working groups to establish standardised templates for new products
• Partner with other teams, departments and management on strategic and ad hoc projects

Desired profile

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• Understanding of ISDA Documentation structure
• Previous negotiation or drafting experience, preferably within Equity Derivatives at a broker dealer
• Understanding of regulatory timeframes and the impact on documentation issues
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Operations, derivatives and/or legal documentation
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Client focused and target driven
• Flexible team player with an ability to work well under pressure
• Effective problem solver and consensus builder
• Be driven, enthusiastic and dynamic in search of improving processes, controls & procedures

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree required
• Advanced degree in business and/or law could be combined with years of experience
