EMEA Property Correspondent
London (Greater London) Journalism / PR
Job description
We are the leading source of intelligent information for the world's businesses and professionals, providing customers with competitive advantage. Intelligent information is a unique synthesis of human intelligence, industry expertise and innovative technology that provides decision-makers with the knowledge to act, enabling them to make better decisions faster. We deliver this must-have insight to the financial and risk, legal, tax and accounting, intellectual property and science and media markets, powered by the world's most trusted news organization.
Job Summary:
We are creating a new Property Correspondent role to lead our coverage of an industry thrown into turmoil by the UK vote to leave the EU. We need a self-starter with a strong track record in building a wide variety of sources. We want to be first with the big news and to spot important developments taking place under the radar. That means gaining privileged access to decision makers. This beat will be wide and varied, touching on everything from property companies and investment flows to major London projects, European builders and fluctuations in house prices.
This is a key part of the file that holds major interest for investors and general readers, so we need a strong writer who can put together pieces on the day and develop the expertise to explain complex themes to a broad audience.
We need someone who can bring this industry to life by getting close to its colourful and influential figures, from Russian oligarchs to Asian real estate tycoons and funds like the Qatar Investment Authority which owns a huge chunk of central London. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who will collaborate closely with the corporate finance team, beat reporters and editors around the world.
