Aircraft Painter Apprenticeship

3 year role

Aircraft Painter Apprentices will be trained to prepare and paint aircraft components and structures on and off aircraft using approved techniques and also gaining knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance procedures.

Apprentices duties will involve working with a paint technician to do the following:

·  Identification of defects and how to repair.
·  Preparation of paint damage prior to paint.
·  Paint application techniques, roller, brush and spraying
·  Trained in the use of spray equipment and the maintenance of equipment
·  Paint stripping and hazardous materials usage
·  Other job duties include the use of aircraft maintenance and operating systems

·  To have good manual dexterity, an eye for detail
·  Full training will be provided

Personal qualities

Successful applicants must demonstrate the following:

·  A keen interest and enthusiasm for body repair and the industry as a whole.
·  To be honest and trustworthy with a willingness to learn.
·  A positive attitude and work ethic, with high level of professionalism.
·  To be able to work effectively as part of a team in a busy hangar environment, as well as having the capability to follow instructions and work individually.

Qualifications required

Applicants are required to have, or predicted to obtain, GCSE Grade A*-D or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in the following subjects:

·  English
·  Maths
·  A practical subject
