DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

The Scientist Analyst will be a member of the Global Juice R&D Center in Apopka, Florida. The role responsibilities include conducting analyses of products, maintaining and calibrating equipment, purchasing laboratory supplies, and receiving/sending of samples and ingredients.

<b>   </b> <b> Key Requirements: </b>

 Bachelor’s degree in chemistry

·One or more years of citrus, beverage, and/or laboratory experience.
·Ability to perform basic laboratory procedures in a safe manner. 
·Ability to learn new techniques.
·Knowledge in HPLC.
·Familiarity with basic lab equipment and glassware.  
·Have a good understanding of scientific instrumentation concepts and procedures.
·Personal computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications. 
·Good oral and written communication skills in English. 
·Ability to read and record instrument readings.
·Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks at a lab bench. 
·Ability to detect color changes in chemical testing. 
·Ability to properly use Personal Protective Devices, such as, but not limited to, safety glasses, gloves, half-mask respirators. 
·Desire to develop skills, take initiative and assume responsibility as appropriate.

<b> Function Specific Activities: </b>

·Conduct chemical analyses (Brix, pH, titratable acidity, color, flash point Vitamin C, Calcium, residual oil, essence, and other juice beverage related analyses) to support internal and global clients.
·Record, analyze, verify and report data.
·Coordinate release of analytical results/ingredient disposition upon request.
·Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.
·Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
·Assist with the ideation, creation and development of new analytical methods and research ideas.
·Prioritize and coordinate assignments and independently manage time to satisfy business needs.
·Proactively solve problems, interpret data and report results, and develop procedures and processes to ensure timely and accurate work.
·Purchase laboratory supplies and maintain proper level of inventory.
·Coordinate shipping of samples, ingredients, etc.
