The Business Analyst (BA) acts as a key intermediary between the business community and IT to define, collect, clarify and translate business requirements into IT functional requirements documentation, process models, and data models from which applications and solutions are designed and developed.

This is a Business Analyst (BA) role supporting the global HR functions including Corporate, Shared Services, and Business Units. The Business Analyst is an active participant in all phases of the project lifecycle and will be required to work closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are met. This position will also have responsibility for providing ongoing oversight and service management for application life cycle management and SLAs.

An ideal candidate for this role must be able to assess and review information gathered and seek clarification as needed to ensure a robust understand and translation of genuine business needs into functional technology requirements.

As we drive the adoption of the Agile/Scrum methodology as our primary approach to solution innovation and development the BA should expect to be a key contributor to a variety of Scrum teams across functional business areas.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (Top 5-8 core responsibilities)

·  Business Partnering:  Provide support to the business on all Information Technology related issues and initiatives:
·  Analyze business requirements (e.g., functional and technical requirements, information need, business processes) by conducting information-gathering sessions with clients, analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs.
·  Develop process models based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components.
·  Develop logical data model based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components (e.g., Data Flow Diagram, Entity Relationship Models).
·  Research and assess technology solution options to meet business requirements, including leading vendor assessments, solution evaluations, and RFPs to finalize technology selections
·  Map feature / function requests to business outcomes and work with the business to understand business case/value vs. cost of implementation of new technology solutions.
·  Deployment/ Projects: 
·  Conduct surveys, interviews and other data collection activities to facilitate the documentation of business requirements, use cases, and/or user stories.
·  Develop testing, implementation, data conversion or application support strategies in order to ensure quality delivery of applications. Maintain traceability of requirements through testing and implementation.
·  Support business in development of change impact assessments, training plans, and communications
·  Service Level Management: 
·  Perform application knowledge transfer upon deployment with application support teams. Partner with support teams to analyze support issues, understand root cause, and evaluate potential fixes.
·  Ensure robust system documentation including process flows, data flows and system requirements/use cases, and ensure documentation is kept up to date as solutions are evolved.

Education Requirements:   Bachelor's Degree with 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience

Related Work Experience:   2-5 years of experience

·  Understanding and experience with HR business processes, services and technologies.
·  Preference:  Experience with Workday, Ultipro Payroll, Cornerstone on Demand, and other similar HR solutions.
·  Business Partner Knowledge: Knowledge of business partners (such as HR COE, HR Operations, HR service provider) in their context: industry trends and competitive pressures, strategies and plans, organizational structure, decision-making process, contacts, technology infrastructure and systems.
·  Data Modeling: Knowledge of data modeling procedures and the ability to identify and clearly define the necessary data entities (e.g., persons, places, things, concepts and events) and associations between them.
·  Process Modeling: Knowledge of process modeling procedures and the ability to decompose business processes by taking into account software and system capabilities and to ensure reuse, maintainability and efficiency.
·  IT Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the key directional trends and emerging technologies in the IT industry. Includes knowledge of the key vendors, their strategic and tactical plans, and internal/external advisory services.
·  Experience developing and managing functional and non-functional requirements, test cases and test plans.
·  Experience in working in a global, virtual environment across IT Services groups is a plus
·  Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
·  Demonstrated profeciency in using requirement management tools.
·  Understanding of Agile\DevOps project methodolgy.
·  Experience with project deployment and management skills including Agile and Waterfall methodologies
·  Consumer packaged goods business knowledge/understanding is a plus
·  Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
·  Strong communication, time management and client management skills
·  Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies
·  Excellent customer service skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills
