The Avenue Cookery School is a FUN family-run company teaching cookery to all ages and abilities! We are a small team bursting with energy, drive and good food! We are seeking a like-minded, native English speaking Chef Teacher Volunteer to join our team and assist our chefs, Diana and Richard, who will offer guidance and support.

Our team have years of experience and heaps of knowledge ready to share with the right person!

The candidate needs to be very efficient, reliable, has initiative, speaks and understands English at a high level, some experience in cooking, knows their way around a kitchen and who has a good laid back character!

This role is a great way to learn more about food, cooking and teaching! If you have a passion for food or just fancy pursuing a career in food, you've come to the right place!. It is not for the faint of heart as our kitchen is fast paced and will involve helping the chefs mis en place, cleaning, tidying and general kitchen upkeep, including washing up and eventually helping and guiding students. Those who are afraid to get their hands dirty need not apply! No reason for clock watching, thumb twiddling or personal phone use - a get things done attitude is essential!

No need to be an expert but we won't have time to teach you from the bottom up when we have classes on.

It is very important that the person we work with is hard working but at the same time easy going as being a fun family run business it is not a 'clock-work' operation. We are all straightforward and to the point so need someone who can take constructive criticism well and can be honest back. Being highly organised, tidy yet flexible in the role is a must as we are so small and, when needed, all pitch in together as a team/be able to work independently.

We can be flexible to a certain degree as to which classes you work on as our classes run days, nights and weekends. We do not expect you to be able to attend all the classes but need to be regularly available.

London based travel will be covered and excellent food provided!
