WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A SYSTEM ENGINEER – SYTEMS (VMS) TO JOIN THE THALES TEAM IN DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

The System Engineer (VMS Systems) will support all necessary engineering activities to allow the delivery of Video Management System (VMS) and CCTV together with IT integration, within the program milestones, in conformance with the project requirements and in close coordination with other relevant peer System Engineers. The VMS System Engineer will be the direct interface with the supplier providing VMS product, he/she will be responsible to monitor progress against requirements and ensure proper delivery within budget and schedule. The VMS system engineer will be involved in all engineering project phases of the project, from detailed design elaboration, to configuration/implementation, testing and acceptance of the system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure System Engineering activity of VMS & IT requirements related to CCTV:

• Perform testing and validation of different cameras, equipment with VMS, set up test platform accordingly

• Check requirements for proper implementation of VMS

• Support in Integrating VCA with VMS

• Contribute to the good synchronization of the engineering teams

• Contributes to Risks & Opportunities of design and development, guarantees program commitments, including those flown down to subcontractors and partners

• Identify and manages interfaces with other subsystems

• Perform the necessary design activities in conjunction with the peer System Engineers (SE)

• Collect all necessary user information and perform associated configuration and design

• Provide support and inputs to consolidate and review Interface Control Documents.

• Regularly communicates to engineering and project teams

• Prepare the necessary technical documentation for submittal to the Engineer

• Coordinate with other systems for the successful integration of the system

• Support in Planning, installation, configuration, testing and commissioning associated with VMS and CCTV

• Participate in internal and customer technical meetings

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Three plus years' experience in VMS & related IT systems and software with the following systems/technology:

• Design, Configuration and Implementation of VMS

• Linux (CentOS/RedHat) / Windows (2008/2012) / SQL Server (2008/2012)

• System Tools: LDAP, Active Directory Management

• Database (SQL/PostgreSQL)

• Virtualization Platform: VMware Center, vSphere and ESXi

• Storage System: NAS and SAN appliances

• Configuration Management: Puppet

• Experience in working with DHCP, DNS, Apache Tomcat

• Experience in building software/scripts to automate production systems

• Engineering School or equivalent specialty in IT or Electronics or Telecommunications, with experience in the field of Video & IT systems

• Good technical analysis methodology

• System Requirement Management

• Able to work in a construction site environment

• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Able to coordinate with external contractors and suppliers

• Customer facing skills (meetings/presentations)

• Technical document writing

• Technical presentation skills

• Planning and Reporting skills
