We are currently looking for a Software Engineer-Intern-1 to join the Thales+ Vormetric, a subsidiary of Thales USA, Team in Plantation, FL.

Internship Summary

As a member of a collaborative development team, the Software Intern will be participating in the investigation, resolution and verification of issues pertaining to the embedded cryptographic software solutions at Thales e-Security. A primary objective is to participate in the maintainability and forward engineering capabilities of the product family, and to assist in the development of new applications that use the security architecture. The Software Intern may also be responsible for the creation of scripts that test the cryptographic software baseline.
This internship is available only to current college students.

Essential/Key Areas of Responsibility

· Understating of software engineering practices.
· Ability to work in a team environment
· Participate in Agile Scrum sprints
· Investigation, troubleshooting and verification of sprint items
· Development of new features or work items

Required Competencies

· Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· Linux operating system and C/C++ and/or Java programming language skills

Desired Qualifications

· Skills in Linux operating system and C/C++ and/or Java programming language
· Python programming is a plus

Educational Requirements

· Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher

Work Environment

The working environment is generally indoors in environmentally controlled conditions where lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous conditions. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
