Thales Australia is part of a leading international electronics and systems group serving the defence, aerospace and space, security, and transport markets in Australia and throughout the world. Our expertise ranges across protected mobility vehicles and integrated communications solutions for defence through to security solutions and systems integration for the commercial sector.

Thales operates and maintains world leading Full Flight Mission Simulators for training the Australian Army's Tiger Helicopter crews. The Training & Simulation business delivers both simulation products and training services to Defence and Civil customers in Australia.

We are currently seeking an experienced Simulator Technician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities of This Role Include:

·  Operate and maintain the simulator as directed
·  Ensure that the simulator is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers' guidelines
·  Carry out corrective maintenance and actions as required
·  Maintain tools and test equipment, and ensure equipment is in calibration
·  Maintain records and documentation
·  Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant standards and processes
·  Carry out repairs to ensure that the simulator meets its contracted availability requirements
·  Maintain a sound working relationship with the customer and other relevant stakeholders
·  Proactively identify issues and solutions, keeping the maintenance manager informed of progress

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required Include:

·  Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Electronics or Avionics Trade or Diploma of Electronics trade
·  Minimum of 3 years' experience as a simulator technician or a related field
·  Experience working in a technical workshop or maintenance environment
·  Sound interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
·  Experience working in a Defence environment is desirable however not essential
·  Ability to work in a shift pattern (early morning/day/afternoon)
·  Current drivers licence
