Due to increased demand for our products we are searching for a talented and experienced Mechanical Realisation Engineer (Design Draftsman) to join our Cheadle based team. You will be required to produce and modify 3D models and drawing packages using Pro/ENGINEER and AutoCAD to allow the procurement and manufacture of electro mechanical equipment including consoles, cabinets, 19-inch racks, cable forms, enclosures, shelves etc. for ships and submarines. All products are designed to defence standards, therefore, knowledge of these standards is highly desirable.
Although this role is Cheadle based you will be required to travel to our site in Templecombe, Somerset to build effective relationships with their design, project, manufacturing and procurement teams

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
· Designing and drawing electromechanical equipment
· Work collaboratively with Design Engineers to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
· Producing 3D models
· Implementing changes into drawing packages
· Producing change documentation
· Providing support to the preparation of detailed estimates and bids.
· Providing support to production and procurement as required.
· Providing design or drawing support where necessary to other Thales sites Skills experience and qualifications needed:
· Solid experience using Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/INTRALINK
· Experience user of AutoCAD (including Raster editing)
· Experience in designing and modelling electro-mechanical items such as console, cabinets, racks and cable forms from any industry sector but defence is preferable.
· Experience in producing drawings to BS 8888 standards.
· HNC/HND or equivalent in relative discipline Hours: 37 per week (8 hours Monday to Thursday and 5 hours Friday) some over time may be required when needed.
