In-Flight Entertainment Mechanic
Heathrow Airport, Hounslow


AVS supplies flight avionics, electrical power generation and conversion, and in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems. It encompasses training and simulation solutions for air, land and joint forces as well as microwave and imaging subsystems.

We are currently recruiting for an In-Flight Entertainment Mechanic to join our team at Heathow, responsible for service and maintenance activities for wide body aircraft including B777, A380, A321 and B787.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and work with some of the world's most advanced technologies. The successful candidate will coordinate with Airline and Thales personnel to ensure all maintenance issues are resolved to the highest levels of customer satisfaction. You will form part of a team of Mechanics / Technicians / Licenced engineers who service and maintain the extensive Thales fleet in LHR.

The role requires performance of daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on Aircraft equipped with Thales In-flight entertainment systems. The team operates shift cycles on a 4 day on, 4 day off shift pattern, 6am – 6pm or 11/12am – 11/12pm.

Duties & responsibilities

- Work with Airlines & Thales rectify all incoming defects either planned or unplanned.
- Control of aircraft maintenance records and follow-on communications.
- Ensure that the customers including cabin crew and engineers are satisfied with the services performed
- Inform Thales / airline team of events that have occurred in-Flight.
- Assist Aircraft technicians to prioritise the daily workload.
- Meet / greet and dispatch all aircraft whilst on shift.
- Carry out maintenance activities on Aircraft in accordance with approved documentation.
- Support the technical team in capturing and investigating issues seen in service.
- Co-ordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure accurate planned and unplanned tasks for all aircraft fitted with Thales IFE system.
- Input maintenance information into the Electronic Information Database (to ensure issues and requirements are captured, documented, and are available for review and distribution in a timely manner.

Skills & Attributes

Essential


- Experience in a technical customer service role with a desire to get into aviation
- Mechanical minded and computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication
- Full driving license, held for over a year

- Experience within aviation
- A high level of computer competency
- Forecasting and work planning experience
