This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior or Deputy TIC to take over a role of TIC for all Minor Works for THALES on the 4LM Programme working closely with London Underground. We are looking to give training and development to this person and we are looking for this role to be a succession plan to the Commissioning TIC role and lead TIC roles within THALES.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Commissioning Tester In Charge, you will be an IRSE licensed Tester in Charge for minor works . Main features of the role are to support the Tester in Charge and deputise for him/her duties on the the new SelTrac (Communication Based Train Control) CBTC system and “fixed block” equipment currently being operated on the railroad as part of a progressive cutover process for the 4LM project.
The successful Tester in Charge (TIC) would be expected to manage the testing and deliver the scheme safely, on time and to projected costs.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Manage the testing and deliver the signalling scheme safely and to plan.
Complete testing of the signalling scheme and to insure the signalling project is managed and delivered on time, to budget and to Thales standards and LU standards
Identify potential testing variations and discuss with the Commissioning Tester in Charge.
Ensure that the contract is completed to meet required HSE requirements.
Identify potential process improvements and make recommendations for implementation effectively.
Carry out team briefings in technical documentation and commissioning.
Carry out risk assessments, control of working hours.
Production of test documentation.
Carry out internal audits including KPI's achievement against testing and commissioning plan, e.g. hours budgeted
Implement team briefing records, staff audit of testing documents produced on time internal/external audits.
Support Audit ofInstall to Verification Test handover.
Manage the update of master test lists to TDM and ensure that the TDM is loaded with the required test procedures for a given section.
Attend test log review meetings with other departments and manage the priorities of key test logs, in particular Cat S and Cat A test logs
Ensure that key testing documentation is up to date and that the TIC assistant has briefed staff of key documents including the Testing Strategy and supporting test Plans
Manage reporting of configuration management information for software and hardware
Manage configuration control of testing prints with the design office. Ensure that the Testers are working with the correct version of design. Accept design modifications from the design office and ensure they are updated to the testing pinks.
Prioritise testing activities in line with overall project objectives and Tester in Charge instructions. Ensure these priorities are passed onto the testing teams.
Monitor testing percentages and report on a regular basis to T&C Manager.
Chair regular meetings with design and Installation departments in order to update target dates to feed into the T&C work plan look ahead.
Attend the weekly T&C Managers team heads meeting.

Maintain IRSE licence category:
Log Book updated and maintained in line with IRSE requirements
100% Timesheets submitted by end of each week/monthly deadline on completion of formal in-house training.

Skills

Able to use computer tools including Microsoft Office Suite and databases.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of HSE requirements
Understanding of planning processes

Qualifications:

Essential

IRSE Licensed Functional Tester
MOD 1/3/4 TIC Licence (Minor Works minimum)

Desirable:
IRSE0 Electronics Systems Tester category 1.3.260
