Job Type: Initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Start Date: By 16th October 2017
Hours: 37 per week Monday to Friday (4.5 hour day on Friday) with flexibility on start and finish times.
Salary: negotiable + benefits including paid over time, pensions, healthcare cash plan, 201 hours annual leave pro rata.

Our Belfast site has a new opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join their expanding team on an initial 12 month fixed term contract. As a CNC Machinist you will manufacture and inspect high precision components, sub-assemblies, tooling and fixtures. The main driver for the role is to ensure production schedules and requirements are met at standard cost.

Duties required:
· Responsible for the set-up and operation of major plant equipment i.e. C.N.C. machine tools in order to manufacture high precision ammunition components, Tooling, Gauging, Jig and fixture details and R&D hardware.
· Shop Floor programming using M.D.I. and G codes to produce C.N.C. programmes for the manufacture of R&D hardware and Tooling.
· Responsible for the step by step prove out of program by diagnosing errors to prevent damage to plant equipment and ensure correct manufacture of components.
· Responsible for recording data on statistical process control (SPC) data base units or control charts.
· Responsible for calibration and plausibility checks on post process gauging.
· Responsible for the quality of machine components to drawing specification and quality standards.
· Record any necessary quality defect data on factory management system.
· Responsible for progressing finished components to other work groups.
· Responsible for identifying any errors found within process sheets and measurement plans and escalate. Skills and experience required:
· Experience working as a Machine Technician or CNC Machinist
· Ideally completed an apprenticeship as a turner or skilled machinist but is flexible depending on experience.
· Must be able to understand information given on technical drawings and apply that information in the programming and operation of C.N.C machine tools.
