4G / LTE Systems Test Engineer

Join our team of systems engineers in Crawley and focus on the IVVQ phase of the programme covering line-replaceable unit (LRU) and system level verification testing. This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Test Engineer to use their 4G / LTE communications experience in a new application, providing support for internal and external communications using direct radio links for aircraft to ground communication.


Key responsibilities

· To execute Systems Engineering work packages and Tasks in accordance with the company process and the relevant Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and associated subordinate Engineering Plans
· Work closely in support of the relevant Systems Engineering Manager to ensure the delivery of development WPs to cost, schedule and quality
· Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure the correct flow down of requirements and flow up of compliance evidence
· Complete the generation of Test Cases and Scripts to test the Thales solution for A2G at LRU and System Level and to conduct the testing and generation of test reports and population of the Verification Matrix
· Support Programme Management in the identification, mitigation and closure of Dependancies, Risks & Opportunities.

Skills, qualification and experience

· Team player who can interface well with engineering and manufacturing teams
· Knowledge of Civil Aviation Communications Systems and Networks both current and future visions & trends
· Good knowledge of Mobile Communications Systems and Networks both current and future visions & trends; in particular knowledge of 4G and LTE are sought
· Good knowledge of Civil Aviation Communications Systems would be advantageous
· Good understanding of Engineering Standards, engineering processes and maturity models.
