The Role
As a Powertrain Engineer with our NVH team you will play a critical role in the design and development of Tesla’s industry-leading products. You will analyze, optimize, and revolutionize electric vehicle and energy storage designs. You will work with fellow NVH engineers and other engineering teams to solve the toughest challenges in the industry and deliver world-class performance.

Responsibilities
·Conduct source-level noise and vibration measurements of prototype drive units and give feedback to design
·Assess NVH development needs for Model 3 and Model S/X programs, in the areas of acoustical materials, drive unit isolation and body structure
·Prioritize these needs and develop test plans to evaluate the NVH impact of the proposed designs for this program
·Perform modal, point mobility, vibration and acoustic transfer function analysis during the design and development process to achieve world-class vehicle attribute targets
·Collaborate with the NVH CAE team members to provide model input and model correlation
·Collaborate with manufacturing team to provide pass-fail criteria for NVH and defect metrics
·Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your test results
·Provide input in the creation of component specification, component DFMEA, and other technical design documents where test and evaluation plays a pivotal role
Qualifications
·Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
·Strong communication skills, independent worker, excellent team player, and all-around badass
·Excellent understanding of acoustics and vibration principles
·3 years experience in NVH
·Strong experience with vehicle body NVH a plus
·Expert applied skill in NVH instrumentation and data acquisition
·Strong experience with LMS Test.Lab, Head Acoustics Artemis, etc.
·Familiarity with NVH CAE methods a plus
·Demonstrated ability to deliver analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraints
