The Utility Relations Research Specialist will be responsible for managing research, data analysis, process development, and process change implementation as they relate to utilities and rebate programs.

The Research Specialist will ensure we have consistent, reliable and repeatable practices in place to support new market launches, new product launches, and process change management, often working against a deadline.

Internal teams will rely on the Research Specialist to clearly communicate and document details and requirements relating to product launches, new markets or process changes. They will send regular status reports, and will develop formal project action and communication plans prior to any launch.

Responsibilities

·  Research data related to solar PV and battery systems, including items related to interconnection processes and regulations, incentives, and other technical requirements
·  Develop and improve internal processes to comply with new or existing program requirements
·  Liaise with Systems Engineers to ensure that internal software systems accurately align with external processes
·  Provide Excel and SQL support to the Utility management team
·  Monitor external and internal data (such as rebate program openings, battery sales, NEM caps, etc), track changes and develop forecasts as required to assess business impact of trends and upcoming changes
·  Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress including goals, resource requirements and schedule definition and successfully plan, execute and implement projects within agreed timelines
·  Participate in and lead strategic meetings including planning, readiness and post mortems
·  Own and manage dashboards to track active projects
·  Prepare process flow diagrams, use cases, current/future state diagrams, and functional and technical requirements
·  Identify and engage key stakeholders to ensure buy-in and successful implementations

Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required;
·  2 years of experience in either an analytical role or cross-functional process management role
·  Evidence of exceptional ability
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation skills
·  Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must
·  Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
·  Adept at internal and external relationship management including ability to breakthrough organizational barriers to solve problems
·  Highly motivated self-starter, able to maintain poise under pressure all while acting with an overwhelming sense of urgency
·  Polished, nuanced conflict management and negotiation skills resulting in win-win outcomes
·  Demonstrated experience leading new market and product rollouts, or managing process changes preferred
·  Outstanding Excel skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Grid, PowerPoint. SQL skills preferred. Basic to Intermediate Visio skills preferred
·  Experience in Change Management or Project Management certifications a plus
·  Training, experience and and/or certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
