The Role: Recycling Associate, Gigafactory

The Recycling Associate is part of a larger Workplace team responsible for making sure our Gigafactory customers (our Tesla employees) are happy at work. As a Workplace team, we ensure their facility needs are met so they can work to  accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

Our ideal Recycling Associate is able to work autonomously, as well as in a team environment. A successful Recycling Associate candidate will be mindful of personal cleanliness while keeping the Gigafactory organized and presentable. This position is physically active and requires the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

·  Ensuring your safety and the safety of all others at all times.
·  Transporting recyclables, scrap and trash throughout the factory.
·  Operating heavy equipment including cardboard balers, forklifts, pallet jacks, foam densifiers and other recycling equipment.
·  Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
·  Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
·  Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
·  Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Supervisor.
·  Develop and maintain positive working relationships with your Workplace team and all production teams.
·  Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing and walking.
·  Must be able to sort and segregate materials to maximize value.
·  Work shifts are 12 hours long, the job requires a great deal of stamina and strength.
·  Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.
·  1 year or more prior recycling, custodial or grounds maintenance experience required.
·  Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
·  Previous heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
