Tesla Motors is looking for a Project Developer to drive all phases of Tesla’s Supercharger installations, including site diligence, contract negotiation, approvals, construction and close out. The ideal candidate will have impeccable interpersonal skills, work tirelessly to find solutions, easily adapt to external factors and internal guidance and be able to manage 20+ projects at a given time.

The responsibilities of this position may change over time—this role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the project and the organization. There will be opportunities for career growth based on performance and interest.

This is a remote position that will require frequent travel throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop, refine and manage comprehensive site due diligence.

· Lead efforts to obtain all necessary approvals from utilities , and permitting authorities.

· Work with attorneys to draft, negotiate and close landlord agreements.

· Work closely with installation partners to assess and manage installation costs and timeline.

· Create proposed site schematics and work closely with design engineers to optimize site layout and gain counterparty approval.

· Build and maintain relationships with key deployment partners.

Desired profile

Requirements

· 3-7 years of project management experience, dealing with property owners of all types, permitting authorities, utilities and building contractors.

· Willingness to travel up to 80%, as needed.

· Understanding of site due diligence and installation design processes, and experience working with engineers and architects to refine and optimize drawings and plans.

· Understanding of permitting and grid connection processes, and experience working with the relevant authorities to ensure a smooth path and expedited schedule.

· Experience working with private and public property owners to negotiate and sign agreements.

· Ability to anticipate challenges, take initiative and solve before they become costly to correct.

· Ability to accelerate counterparty timelines which may otherwise seem inflexible.

· Ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

· Proven track record of managing many concurrent projects on time and on budget, while adhering to the highest quality and standards.

· Familiarity with energy technologies including solar and stationary storage.

· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.

· Able to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life .

· Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
