Description

The Role:

· Define the production plan over the horizon for the shop(s) you support to achieve their build targets (while minimizing overtime & excess inventory)
· Identify the key risks to achieving the plan and own communicating these out / engaging the right groups to resolve
· Own communication and alignment with all key stakeholders to ensure the plan is supported. This involves reviewing the plan and all potential inhibitors to achieving it: materials, capacity, equipment uptime / reliability, planned maintenance, etc..
· Ensure system data is accurate in MRP & Manufacting Execution System (MES) for the portfolio of parts that you manage:
· Parts are correctly assigned on the BOM (and classifications correct)
· Work Orders are setup correctly, processing and updated to prevent run-out
· Inventory targets, lot sizing are correct
· Ancillary demand (e.g. service, rework) is correctly loaded
· Etc..
· Own the relationship with New Product Introduction, Engineering & the Shop Leadership as it relates to trialing and deploying new parts into your shop via ECO.
· Own the value stream mapping for how your portfolio flows thru your shop(s)
· Identify & champion opportunities (and then work on the projects) that will improve overall shop performance: be they physical structure, process re-design to IT infrastructure related.
· Assist in implementing systematic solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages, and maintain accuracy in ERP system.
· Participate in the Shop Leader’s daily operational review to maintain close understanding on the drivers of performance and provide status on progress to plan
· Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as supply chain specialists, manufacturing engineers, and logistics personnel.
· Assist with inventory control activities
· Generate and publish metrics of performance.
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree. Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or Operations background is strongly desired.
· 2-5 years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing company is required..
· Analytical capabilities including data analysis to optimize build plans relative to different constraint factors (equipment capacity, staffing plans, material availability) is required
· Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools (MS Excel, Tableau) is strongly desired.
· Ability to present the production plan effectively to a cross functional team on a weekly basis is required.
· Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude is required.
· Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required
· Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision is required.
· Strong work ethics required.
