Job description

Role: Castings Process Technician

Location: Lathrop, CA

The Role:

This position is responsible for moving materials, supplies, molten aluminum and raw stock to designated places in the facility as needed to maintain the flow of work in various production departments. Responsible for the proper operations of the furnaces and related equipment to perform all assigned operations relative to changing the physical properties of metal to obtain the desired qualities.

Responsibilities:

·  Safely deliver molten metal to die cast machines as required with minimal interruptions to operations, including maintaining proper metal levels, and avoiding machine downtime due to interruptions in service or breakdowns of equipment related to metal delivery.
·  Perform maintenance and repairs of metal equipment as required.
·  Clean melt and holding furnaces as required, removing dross as necessary.
·  Properly perform preventative and predictive maintenance on dosing furnaces as well as
·  troubleshooting when necessary.
·  Help process engineers to develop the process parameters
·  Monitoring all process parameters and peripherals in die cast machine
·  Solve for defective conditions seen on manufactured parts
·  Perform the die set-up
·  In charge of ensuring preventative maintenance is completed correctly
·  Help engineers to refine spray program
·  Support engineers in new die cast die trials
·  Responsible to verify all the process parameters after a die change
·  Formulate daily reports
·  On a daily basis you will work with robots, thermal controls, measurement tool, and quality inspection
·  standards
·  Other duties include but are not limited to drying out holding and melting furnaces and replacing furnace doors in a timely manner. Major rebuild and repair to launder stacks.

Requirements:

·  High school diploma or equivalent (GED), Associates Degree or higher in the electrical, mechanical or industrial maintenance field is preferred; relevant work experience is acceptable.
·  2+ years of experience in die casting environment.
·  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
·  Ability to initiate, organize and prioritize work.
·  Accuracy and attention to detail required.
·  Ability to work in a team environment.
·  Proficiency in: Microsoft office, problem solving, and basic math skills.
