Job description
Description
The Role:
The Modeling Team is strategically positioned within Technology R&D to provide essential input to all phases of the powertrain engineering process. Using custom-built modeling tools, the Modeling Team performs high-level feasibility analyses for future products, defines vehicle- and component-level specifications, and coordinates interdependent iterative design processes for various powertrain components.
The Modeling team is looking for determined, eager individuals with strong breadth and depth of technical knowledge. The Powertrain Performance Modeling Engineer will share in the team responsibility of developing and refining a vehicle model with mixed physical domains, with a focus on coordinating component- and vehicle-level experiments to inform modeling efforts. The Engineer will continuously improve the tools that allow the Modeling Team to effectively support technical requests across the engineering organization.
Responsibilities:
• Analysis and mathematical modeling of physical systems
• Interpretation of simulation results to inform system-level decisions
• Design of component-, subsystem- and vehicle-level experiments
• Post-processing and analysis of experimental data to validate and inform models
• Technical communication of simulation and experimental results
Minimum Requirements:
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; M.S. preferred
