The Role

Tesla Motors is searching for a highly skilled Oracle DBA with solid skills to join our Infrastructure operations team. In this highly paced and dynamic role, you will work closely with the development teams and product management to ensure that we are delivering robust, reliable, consistent and predictable database services to ensure 100 % availability to our applications.

Responsibilities

·  Develop, design and maintain highly available and scalable databases
·  Monitor the performance of production databases, identify areas where performance needs to be improved and provide fixes/solutions for the performance issues.
·  Develop database tools to automate existing database tasks.
·  Participate in the ongoing support of developed applications.
·  Respond appropriately to emergency technical support situations and produce quick and effective solutions to database technical problems under high pressure.
·  Work with database personnel to design physical and logical databases to support present / future business application.
·  Participate in an on-call rotation and other duties as defined by Tesla management.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent)
·  5 or more years of Database administration, with evidence of exceptional ability
·  Deep understanding of Oracle DB internals
·  Solid skills in Scalability / Performance Tuning of databases .
·  Solid experience on database RMAN backup, cloning, standby database and DR solutions
·  Strong troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills to ensure minimum downtime of production databases
·  Strong Shel,Perl,SQL and PL/SQL scripting to automate DB related jobs.
·  Proven ability to work independently or as an integral member of a team
·  Excellent communication and documentation skills - ability to work with development teams.
·  Oracle 11g, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Grid control experience preferred.
·  Failover cluster like Failsafe, VERITAS cluster expereince preferred.
·  Data replication experience, like Oracle Golden Gate, veridata and Dell shareplex preferred.
·  Other database administration experience like MySQL, , MS SQL , MongoDB – Huge Plus
