About The Pilot Team:
Organization dedicated to preparing manufacturing and new programs for a smooth introduction while looking to improve the current state in GA. Each member is the necessary and vital link between Design and General Assembly Teams.
Pilot Engineering Technician Role:
The Pilot Technician serves the pivotal role of Ambassador for an assigned General Assembly group. You are a representative of your line and your department, the associate on the line is your customer. You’ll be on the front line between new products and full scale production. Amongst other things, the following will be key responsibilities in your role:
· Maintain good communication with different departments/stakeholders to maintain alignment and achieve common goals.
· Create and validate processes that solve for:
· Safety / Ergonomics
· Manufacturability
· Quality
· Rate
· Cost efficiency
· Create work instructions and training documents
· Create a plan for and execute training for all impacted associates in your group
· Expert in GA Group you oversee
· Know the ins and out of your group
· Understand vehicle stacking order
· Capable of performing standardized work for all of the stations with quality and within Takt
· Good understanding of Ergonomic Guidelines
· Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
· Ability to understand and explain new vehicle introduction scope
· Ability to identify concerns and assess risk as well as provide creative countermeasures
· Evaluate and define processes for new equipment being introduced to assembly
· Evaluate new parts and provide feedback to Design on how to improve for
· Safety / Ergonomics
· Manufacturability
· Quality
· Rate
· Cost efficiency
· Lead Pilot builds through your GA group and support others
· Confirm process and quality of operators during online trials
· Help validate all major facets of the launch (MES/MOS, tooling & torques, manifest, racks etc.)
In addition to the primary roles of Pilot, we also provide the following supporting roles:
· GA manpower support
· GA Engineering support
· EOL support, repair and/or containments
· Work with Design Engineering and NPI teams to implement running changes
· Support Vehicle Test groups in the building of bucks/ test components
Ideal candidates will have or exhibit the following:

· Able to work OT late notice (including some weekends)
· Able to switch between 1 st and 2 nd shift to support company needs

· Experience with and / or be able to learn key systems/programs
· Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Zoom, Enovia/Catia/Delmia, Proplanner/Vizendo, MRT/Jira, MES/MOS and many other sub systems.
