The Role

We are currently hiring a goal-oriented Material Handler for our Fremont, CA operation. This individual will be driven to succeed and will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day operations of the Fremont warehouses and supporting line side duties. This will include assisting production and warehouse by locating and acquiring parts from the production line, transferring them to the correct location, supporting production by conveying inventory to manufacturing lines and packing out the quantities for our offsite locations. The Material Handler will also stock and organize parts inventory. This position will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of reusable crates, and ensuring that all material is properly packaged, and/or crated according to work instructions to minimize damage during transit.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·  Assembly of crates and containers.
·  Ensuring that material is safely and securely packaged for shipment, or storage.
·  Ensuring that shipments are packed with all required material, including barrier bags, desiccants, ESD grounding, etc.
·  Properly transact materials in MES.
·  Conveyance of Packaged Material.
·  Inspection, and evaluation of our current fleet of reusable crates to determine reusability.
·  Repair/refurbishing of damaged crates.
·  Maintaining an accurate inventory of usable crates.
·  Conduct cycle counts
·  Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Available to work any shift (Day, Swing, Graveyard, Weekends, Mandatory Overtime, etc.)
·  High School diploma or equivalent, or evidence of exceptional ability.
·  Not currently a production associate or material handler contractor at Tesla
·  A valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record (subject to review)
·  Flexible work availability and comfortable with overtime as needed
·  Data entry experience. Must be comfortable using modern technology; laptops, scanners, RFID, etc.
·  Knowledge of and skill in using Excel based systems.
·  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
·  Previous parts and Material handling experience preferred (3+ years) with Fed-X, DHL, 3PL , etc.
·  Ability to work well as part of a team is mandatory.
·  Punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude are a must.
·  A commitment to adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.
·  Ability to work independently and keep on task in a fast-paced environment.
·  Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
·  Goal oriented and driven to succeed.
·  Possesses a 'get it done' attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
·  Strong attention to detail.
·  Current forklift certification strongly preferred.
