The Role:

Tesla is looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join the Equipment Engineering and Maintenance team at our CNC Machining Center in Lathrop, CA.

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Engineer will be part of the team installing and commissioning equipment in our new CNC Machine Shop in Lathrop, CA. He/She will assist in ramping up production, and coordinate with the vendor to fine-tune and troubleshoot technical process issues so as to meet and exceed targeted throughput and yield.

The Maintenance Engineer will also play a critical role in process characterization and validation, as well as establishing and maintaining the product and process control plan. Once in production, in addition to keeping the line running at best throughput and highest quality level, the Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will help improve product performance by introducing product changes in a controlled manner.

The Maintenance Engineer will work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire life cycle of the product. He/She will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Production, and Maintenance.

Requirements

·  BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
·  Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team oriented work environment
·  Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance technician management experience in a high volume manufacturing/industrial environment is required.
·  Skilled at troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
·  Familiarity with CNC equipment preferred.
·  Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding experience.
·  Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
·  Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc).
·  Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
·  Basic drafting experience preferred. (SolidWorks or CATIA experience a plus.)
·  Availability off-hours and weekend calls.
