The Role
Tesla is seeking an Instructional Developer to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. This position will involve supporting the Body Repair Program in all aspects of its Approved Body Shop Program. This position is located at our Spinnaker Office in Fremont, CA. Responsibilities
· Develop Body Repair Program training course curriculum for the Tesla Approved Body Shop network. Topics include but are not limited to Aluminum Welding, Structural Aluminum Repair, Bonding and Riveting Technology and Paint Repair.
· Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla’s objectives.
· Design and develop technical courses, web-based content and web-based simulations.
· Develop training material content that provides engaging, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences.
· Implement and promote continuous improvement of Tesla Approved Body Shop technician’s skills through continuous improvement of body repair course curriculum.
· Editorial control over course content development.
· Develop and coordinate curriculum; develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
· Develop and administer student training course examinations; continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
· Partner with Subject Matter Experts and Stakeholders to plan and scope requirements for all Tesla Body Repair Program curriculum.
· Maintain and update Tesla LMS system.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired profile
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree required
· Minimum of five years of instructional design experience.
· Professional demeanor, strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
· Strong project management skills and ability to work within strict guidelines and deadlines.
· High level of proficiency in both written and spoken English
· High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
· High level of experience with Graphic Design, eLearning development, Learning Management Systems or similar document creation software.
· Experience with web conferencing or similar virtual training environments.
· Works effectively with team members to provide a smooth implementation of all solutions.
· Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles.
· Strong editorial knowledge and ability to self-edit and proofread training content.
· Maintain and perform top level professional integrity and appearance
· Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public.
· Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record with at least 2 years of driving experience and insurable.
· Valid Passport
· Ability to travel nationally and internationally to support training needs.
· Ability to work independently in limited supervision environments.
· Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet project deadlines.
· Comply with all Tesla safety rules, guidelines and standards.
