The Role

At Tesla, Inside Energy Specialists (IES) constitute our front line of customer engagement for inbound sales calls and outbound calls in response to web inquiries. Team members in this role have the incredible opportunity to set the stage for potential customers to understand what it is to become part of the Tesla family. An IES will provide product and process overview, set expectations and acquire a general understanding of each client’s goals for converting to a self-powered home. Through a brief interaction, Inside Energy Specialists will qualify and schedule in-depth Consultations for customers with their Sales colleagues, Energy Advisors. The Inside Energy Specialist will adapt to specific talking points for energy products dependent on the audience and keep the customer’s experience at the forefront of every action. As a team, we all work together to help Tesla products affect & enrich more lives around the world every day.

As an IES, you will drive a high volume of pipeline activity to meet or exceed monthly sales targets. The ideal candidate will possess superior interpersonal and communication skills, unshakeable moral fortitude, and a strong awareness of appropriate behavior when supporting customers. Via education and inspiration, the Inside Energy Specialist will epitomize top of funnel portion of the no-hassle, low- pressure sales experience and represent our top-tier brand with the highest integrity. Responsibilities

• Client Interaction : Talk to our prospective customers to nurture and prepare customers for an energy product consultation and purchase. We want customers to feel comfortable and excited about joining the Tesla family which will require proper expectation setting.

• Follow-up: Receive & qualify inbound leads. The purpose is to assess the prospect's needs, qualify the opportunity for viability, and schedule the energy consultation. You will make and receive a high volume of inbound and outbound calls to prospective customers.

• Inspiration : Influence customer purchases of Tesla products by aiding a “buy in” to the Tesla brand, including company mission, business model and no stress educational approach to sales.

• Achieve: Both personal and group monthly metric targets.

• Plan: To maximize and leverage phone time, including pre-call planning, adhering to activity metrics, and call structure and control for opportunity qualification and objection-handling.

• Provide: Feedback and recommendations on communication efforts based on direct experiences with potential clients.

Requirements

• Inside Energy Specialist is a developmental role with a career trajectory in Sales, joining the Energy Advisor team, or other challenging teams.

• Self-Motivated & Passionate . The ability to work effectively in a highly automated & collaborative sales environment.

• Strong relationship management skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts.

• Proven track record to meet or exceed targets and goals.

• Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills.

• Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (Email, voicemail, MS Office, internet navigation, CRM applications- preferably Salesforce.com).

• At least one year of full sales life cycle experience with a proven track record of success in a quota-driven environment; business to consumer experience is a plus. A four-year college degree preferred.

*Ability to work weekends, evenings and some holiday hours.
