The Role: Hostler/Material Handler, Gigafactory. Day Shift

Responsibilities
· Responsible for using an industrial tractor to move trailers as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping and receiving functions
· Responsibilities include but not limited to hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers in and out of doors, securing, and sealing outbound trailer doors
· Perform cycle counts and/or yard checks
· Work closely with Production teams
· Support Warehouse Team best practices at all times
· Complete tasks as directed by warehouse schedules and within standard times
· Physical work including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to perform standardized work process and defined work instructions
· Positive energy and attitude are a must
· At least 15% of the time, will be responsible for performing job duties as a Material Handler
· Will ensure all trailers are loaded or empty.
· Will assist others who have general inquiries such as trailer locations, or other questions and/or issues related to trailer yard(s)
· Responsible for the daily inspection of truck, and trailers, including safety checks while adhering to applicable regulations and procedures
· Complete and submit all documentation in a timely manner
· Receiving Department Responsibilities include but not limited to using a sitdown forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack and store products or materials.

Requirements
· Tesla Mission Driven
· High School diploma or equivalent, or evidence of exceptional ability
· Must have strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
· Must be reliable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality focused
· Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. on a daily basis
· Ability to work with a team and in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to stand, walk, and climb to enter and exit out of road and switcher tractor, on a frequent basis
· Ability to operate sit-down forklift
· Ability to manually crank landing gear daily on a frequent basis
· Ability to reach at different heights (4-5 ft.) to repetitively open and close trailer doors
· Endure and safely operate in extreme weather and climate conditions (outdoor work)
· Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality focused
· Current forklift certification strongly preferred
· A valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record (subject to review)
· CDL preferred, but not required
· Must be able to work as assigned both outdoors and indoors, including in a warehouse environment.
· Must have a safe driving record.
· Must have experience using a sitdown forklift, preferably within the last year.
