The Role

Supporting Tesla’s mission in accelerating sustainable energy! The Global Supply Manager (GSM) will manage a responsible commodity by identifying and sourcing material; leading Tesla into favorable position strategically (and then making it even better!).

Responsibilities

·  Establish a strong, efficient and reliable supply chain strategy for Tesla’s Global Service Supply Chain’s direct materials
·  Establish supply continuity with suppliers and strengthen Tesla’s position through strong contract and price negotiations to mitigate supply chain risk
·  Identify and partner with external suppliers
·  Audit Tier 2 and 3 suppliers to mitigate all supply risk
·  Partner with Production Supply Chain and Buyer/Planners for end to end supply strategy; including sourcing, contract terms, manufacturing & distribution capacities, etc.
·  Perform business reviews; including supplier assessments
·  Establish strong relationships with executive leadership at suppliers and be the point of escalation for Tesla service operations for timely resolution of supply, cost and quality issues at suppliers
·  Team with the Service New Product Introduction (NPI) and other Engineering teams to strategize about material and vehicle changes
·  Partner with Demand Planning to establish forecast for sourcing requirements
·  Support End-of-Life supply planning with Demand Planning
·  Lead and manage projects related to supply planning
·  Support daily escalations from field and prioritization for execution
·  Ensure all customers are delighted with an exceptional experience

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant supply chain experience
·  Prior experience with product lifecycle management is preferred
·  NPI or Start-Up experience is a plus
·  Supply Chain experience with Service/Spares is desired
·  Excellent project management, time management, critical thinking, analytical, and judgment skills.
·  Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve
·  Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple high priority projects at once with minimal supervisionin a dynamic and fast paced environment
·  Good negotiation and written/verbal communication skills
·  Be a Rock Star when it comes to part/material supply management!
