Description

Tesla is looking for a general ledger accountant who will work alongside Fund Accounting management teams to manage the various responsibilities and deliverables of a group of structured tax equity funds. The Fund Accounting Analyst will work with funds that stand-alone as special purpose entities incorporated with investment funds and financing partners used as financing vehicles for the company’s lease solar energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations on business, systems and reporting process improvements

• Advise and provide guidance on tax equity fund accounting and reporting to Accounting and Fund Accounting management team with detailed analysis of any variances or trends

• Plan and define financial close, timing and deliverables to management and external auditors

• Manage preparation of monthly and quarterly asset performance reports

• Manage preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the funds

• Develop fund tranche including aggregation and presentation of supporting documentation in collaboration with internal departments Administer fund database

• Manage billing and collections for lease customers via 3rd party vendor

• Leverage background and expertise to independently evaluate and drive periodic compliance reporting to fund partners and company management

• Track and initiate lease payments between the funds and investors

• Manage investor capital calls and cash distribution activities

• Partner with independent fund auditors on preparation and delivery of audited financial statements

• Work with independent tax accountants on filing of various tax returns

• Ensure compliance with any SOX requirements

• Respond to investor inquiries and prospective investor requests as needed

• Drive other projects as required or as business needs change

Desired profile

Requirements

· 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or business degree with appropriate experience

· 
CPA preferred, but not required

· 
Minimum three years of experience in a fast-paced accounting environment; fund accounting experience a plus, but not required

· 
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PivotTables, filtering and other functions and formulas within Excel

· 
Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other mid-tier to large ERP system)

· 
Detail-oriented,resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities

· 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

· 
Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers

· 
Regular, reliable and predictable performance required

· 
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

· 
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal screen. Additional pre-employment driving and drug screens may be required based on job responsibilities
