Job description

The Role 

The Foreign Trade Zone Analyst will manage daily Foreign Trade Zone (“FTZ”) operations. Responsibilities will include coordination with Tesla’s Inventory Control team regarding admissions of articles into the FTZ and the withdrawal of merchandise from the FTZ. The Foreign Trade Zone Analyst will also coordinate with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) officials and with third party providers regarding movement of merchandise into / from the FTZ.

Responsibilities 
·  Day-to-day FTZ administration, including:

·  Filing of Zone Admissions (E214) documents into Tesla’s FTZ Inventory Control and Recordkeeping System (“ICRS”).

·  Coordination and preparation of weekly FTZ withdrawal information, including CF3461, CF7501, CF7512 documentation.

·  Reconciliation of system inventory between Tesla’s production / warehouse Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) system and FTZ ICRS basis and execute adjustments to ICRS inventory as needed.

·  Proactively address and resolve any inventory issues that affect the FTZ.

·  Maintain proper recordkeeping, including transaction customs documents and Tesla’s FTZ manual,standard operating procedures (“SOPs”), and work   instructions.

·  Prepare annual reports and execute annual filings with relevant government authorities and

   stakeholders.

·  Perform routine audits of all FTZ operations, including but not limited to: customs filings, physical security, inventory control, and recordkeeping.

·  Assist and participate in continuing education for internal departments related to FTZ and CBP compliance.

·  Enhance operating procedures and drive recommendations for FTZ improvements as required.

·  Support other global trade related projects as needed.

Qualifications 

·  Experience with Foreign Trade Zone operations, including requirements set forth under Title      19 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and general Inventory Control processes.

·  Experience interacting with U.S. Customs and other government agencies on a regular basis.

·  U.S. Customs Broker License strongly preferred.

·  3+ years relevant experience with inventory control within a manufacturing environment and or FTZ experience.

·  Detailed oriented and highly organized; ability to multi-task several projects at once.

·  Ability to drive complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, 

   execution, and presenting results.

·  Ability to write, speak and present effectively and persuasively at all levels.

·  Self-driven initiative to gain and share a broader knowledge of supply chain.

·  Strong experience with MS Office Applications, including knowledge of Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

·  Understanding of databases and enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) systems.

·  Able to work well under pressure.

·  BA / BS degree or evidence of exceptional ability and experience.
