THE ROLE
The Employee Relations Partner will conduct investigations into employee relations concerns and support overall positive workforce engagement. The successful candidate will provide guidance, support and make recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns. This position is both hands-on and strategic to provide investigative and employee relations expertise. This position is based in Fremont, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conducts investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
· Communicates regularly regarding pending investigations and provides timely investigation reports with supporting documentation for all completed investigations.
· Uses effective interviewing and documentation techniques; utilizes the designated online case management tool for tracking; maintains accurate, confidential records regarding all investigations.
· Partners with Legal team in conducting investigations and HR leaders to provide counsel and facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns.
· Creates and updates HR policies and procedures that pertain to employee relations; conduct trainings on compliance with policies and procedures.
· Analyzes employee relations trends with Leadership and helps develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies.
· Develops effective relationships with HR Business Partners to promote positive employee relations throughout the organization to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement.
· Participates in projects led by the Employee and Labor Relations team as needed.
Desired profile
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5-7 years’ experience in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions; Master’s preferred.
· Evidence of exceptional ability.
· Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, which govern employment policies and practices. Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards.
· Experience successfully implementing programs across geographically distributed teams.
· Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.
· Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator.
· Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
· Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently.
· Working knowledge of MS Office.
· Strong business acumen.
