Description
Tesla Energy is looking for an amazing electrical engineer to design and validate a variety of electronics designs. You will design circuits, and perform extensive validation to ensure outstanding product solutions. The position is based at Tesla’s Palo Alto headquarters.
Responsibilities
· Design, prototype, and validate high volume power, analog, and digital electronics PCBs.
· Solve complex HW/FW field and failure analysis problems, drive design improvements from learnings.
· Drive creation of test plans, ECO release documentation, and excellent design/validation documentation.
· Collaborative work with mechanical, digital control, thermal design, manufacturing test, and reliability engineers.
· Drive ultra-reliable, cost effective designs that beat schedules and cost targets
· Support new electronics product launches to high volume production.
Desired profile
Requirements
· BSEE or MSEE
· 1+ years of professional electronics development experience.
· Strong fundamentals in electrical and electronics design for PCB.
· Demonstrated excellence in troubleshooting difficult electrical problems, and driving improvements based upon learnings.
· Ability to support design for EMC, reliability, and manufacturability.
· Experience in schematic entry and PCB layout using Altium (or equivalent).
· Experience in selection and use of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board-level power supplies)
· Significant simulation experience for electrical design: SPICE, MATLAB, high speed simulation tools, or equivalent.
· Strong fundamentals in firmware development for electronics designs.
· Desired high power (500kW+), high voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) safe working experience,
· Able to drive leadership of team and individual safety in a variety of lab and field situations.
· Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for overall team success.
