Position: EHSS Construction Safety Technician, Gigafactory

Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and review of job hazard analysis for each major phase of our work to ensure its safe completion.

Communicate with the working crews to build relationships, address concerns and identify improvement opportunities.

Able to clearly communicate, coach and apply Tesla construction safety policies to others consistently.

Assist in the development and implementation of safety related programs.

Work with project supervision to enforce Tesla’s policies and procedures.

Provide basic regulatory compliance problem solving support to Tesla EPC members and other EHS Staff.

Examine credentials, licenses, or permits to ensure compliance with company, state and federal requirements.

Promote compliance with the company/project safety requirements to ensure company safety goals are met.

Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Complete assigned projects within their level of scope as directed.

Perform and document regular jobsite inspections with special emphasis on OSHA compliance, hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.

Able to identify hazards from typical construction related activities.

Understand the most common causes of incidents from construction related activities and use knowledge in an appropriate way to influence others.

Analyze accident/incident trends and develop/implement recommendations to improve safety behaviors or minimize risk.

Assist EHS Specialist in the preparation and performance of safety meetings, orientations and training programs to ensure the effective communication safety expectations.

Coordinate receiving and distribution of PPE and other safety related equipment.

Desired profile

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in a construction health and safety role.

Associates Degree preferred

OSHA 10 Hr. Construction

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Able to stand and/or walk for 10+ hrs daily, able to climb stairs

High tolerance of change

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Able to rapidly respond to hazardous spills or employee health emergencies, including administering life saving measures

Able to discern audible alarms

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
