The Role
This role is part of Tesla’s Energy Operations team; a group of highly skilled, uniquely talented people passionate about accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy. As a member of the team, this person will report to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and direct all activities in the facility necessary to operate a distribution center at maximum efficiency. Perform a variety of strategic and tactical functions to ensure the timely distribution of materials, effectively manage inventory for energy products, maintain an efficient labor plan, freight loading/scheduling, direct delivery program, storage planning, and all other controllable cost associated with managing the Distribution Center. S/he will also collaboratively work with the HQ Logistics, HQ Supply Chain, and Warehousing to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional internal customer service.
Responsibilities
· Manage a team of Distribution Center team members to meet departmental goals via appropriate allocation of workload and effective resource management
· Identify and hire, train, develop, and exit employees
· Evaluate employee work and productivity and monitor for process adherence and compliance
· Responsible for inventory control procedures that attains 100% inventory accuracy at all times
· Manage auditable records including but not limited to packing slips, pick lists, WARP, safety audits, etc., ensuring documents are easily retrievable and accurate.
· Meet or exceed spend targets as it relates to variable and fixed costs for te facility, labor management, and warehouse supplies
· Manage load planning, and ensure compliance with legal/ risk management requirements and without impacting internal customer service
· Meet picking and receiving expectations
· Metric achievement responsibility – processes and procedures implementation and actions to achieve all metrics
· Establish requirements and controls for appropriate vendor scheduling and resource changes based on performance and facility volumes
Desired profile
Requirements
· Minimum three years’ relevant distribution experience in a high-volume environment
· Previous supervision or management experience in a warehouse environment
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Warehouse management systems required
· Ability to act independently while working collaboratively with a team
· Possess strong problem-solving skills related to people and inventory
· Ability to create systems out of chaos
· Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
· Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers
· Regular, reliable and predictable performance required
· Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet regularly in a fast-paced environment
· Must have a valid Drivers License
