The Role

Spearhead the safety testing of high voltage battery systems related to international homologation requirements and drive the development of industry standards.

Responsibilities
•Plan and perform destructive tests on batteries to better understand their properties
•Develop test procedures and training materials for executing testing including safety protocols
•Lead the design and build of prototype batteries for research
•Coordinate testing for homologation efforts with other test labs and regulators
•Technically lead development of battery safety standards and protocols internally and with outside organizations

Desired profile

Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or related
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external professional relationships
•Safety conscious
•Being able to work under pressure and results oriented
•Some travel
•CAD experience desired
•Lithium ion / automotive / grid scale energy storage a plus
•Statistics experience a plus

Foreign language fluency a plus
