Position Description
Perform process sustaining and improvement activities for the Stator manufacturing lines and any other powertrain lines which may need assistance. Tasks include such things as: disposition of non-conformant material, identification and execution of yield improvement, cost reductions, and process improvement projects. Sustaining of the line must also be done through the creation of meaningful metrics to ensure the stability of the process through the use of tools such as SPC. You must also be able to provide process feedback to cross-functional teams as changes are made to the line’s product, equipment, and manufacturing instructions. In addition to these tasks, the role supports the production team by providing knowledgeable feedback on part defects and specification conformance, correct process procedures, and the proper tooling and gauges to perform all necessary manufacturing tasks.
Candidates must be able to manage workload with a positive attitude and detailed thoroughness. Many projects span across multiple teams so great communication and a team player mindset is a must.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
· Establish real time SPC for all critical process parameters and drive Cpk >1.33
· Responsible for yield improvement and sustained performance of the production line
· Ensure that all non-conformant materials which are produced by manufacturing lines are dispositioned in real time
· Maintain and help develop up-to-date process qualification to ensure the process baseline is available to production
· Work with Equipment, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering teams to ensure manufacturing instructions and standard works are always accurate and representative of the actual processes on the floor.
· Work with process sustaining technicians to support day to day coverage of production line process, including rapid response to out-of-control processes to minimize cost and maximize productivity.
· Lead Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Support the growth of the line by spreading and reinforcing these ideas.
· Assist in the training of operators as needed.
· Keep an up to date knowledge of processes, specifications, and quality criteria with respects to owned lines

Qualifications/Skills
· BS/MS Degree on Chemical/Material/Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering.
· Ability to manage projects across multiple different groups.
· 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred but not required.
· Experience in electronic/mechanical assembly desired.
· Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
· Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Power point, Visio, Access, JMP, etc).
· CAD skills for the creation of fixtures, tools, and tooling modifications a strong plus
· Knowledgeable about production quality metrics is a plus
· Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
· Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge of process development, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), & FMEA fundamentals are required.
· Electric drive-train operation knowledge desired
· Intelligent Risk taking, Integrated thinking, strong leadership, strong problem solving, and technical communication skills a MUST.
