The Role

Based in Fremont, the Retail Finance team acts as the primary finance partner for the Retail Development and Real Estate teams, responsible for the real estate, design, material procurement, and construction of Tesla's worldwide fleet. The Associate Finance Managerwill work directly with Global Development teams, playing an integral role supporting and analyzing Tesla's growth over the next several years. The Associate Finance Managerwill manage a team of GEO based Analysts responsible for a portfolio of New, Relocation, Expansion and Remodel construction projects.In addition to oversight of the day-to-day budget controls and tracking at the project level, the Retail Finance Manager will be relied upon for frequent ad hoc analysis and data modeling.

Responsibilities

·  Oversight of a Global GEO based analyst team (NA, EMEA, APAC, CN), responsible for start-to-finish financial responsibility of a portfolio of retail & service construction projects.
·  Develop and present executive level reporting to senior management highlighting the financial impact on major shifts in capital execution and/or strategy.
·  Perform fleet-wide spend analytics to better understand local cost drivers and utilize data to leverage existing and potential vendors.
·  Review Development pro forma model submissions for new RE opportunity performance.
·  Partner with Fixed Assets teams to properly manage depreciated or removed capital assets and expensed materials.
·  Partner with Design/Development teams to develop store-type cost models (prototypes) to better forecast future construction spend.
·  Ensure financial closeout and capitalization of all development projects upon completion.
·  Continually push to improve and challenge current processes and procedures, finding efficiencies.
·  Assist management team with urgent ad hoc requests.
·  Provide financial leadership across various functional teams.
·  Collaborate with Retail Development business partners and Corporate Finance to improve current business processes, innovate new reporting tools, and roll out key initiatives.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  8+ years of professional experience, of which at least 2 years has been in a management role. Retail, construction and/or real estate finance experience is a plus.
·  Excellent presentation and writing skills, experience presenting to senior leadership.
·  Be a self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
·  Positive attitude with demonstrated success in challenging and improving existing processes.
·  Strong performance in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
·  Evidence of exceptional ability.
·  Have expert knowledge of Excel modeling and analytics.
·  MBA in Finance preferred, or BS/BA with relevant experience in Retail Development.
