As an Associate Energy Manager, your primary job duties are to manage and direct the day-to-day performance and production of your team. Reporting to the Energy Manager, Associate Energy Manager’ss are responsible for driving energy-specific (solar + battery storage) sales results across a designated group of stores. In this role, you will be spend most of your time engaged in management duties such as interviewing, hiring, selecting and training, mentoring, coaching, planning, assigning and prioritizing work, and evaluating and coaching your group of Energy Advisors who are helping Tesla accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. As secondary functions, Associate Energy Managers will engage with potential customers in our sales locations, exciting them about learning and experiencing our innovative products and programs. In addition, you will have your own limited personal production goals and requirements Even with these secondary functions, the Associate Energy Manager should spend the majority of his or her time engaged in management duties as outlined above.
This is an exempt position with benefits at Tesla that has a rich commission program linked to team performance. You will ultimately be measured and rewarded by your and your team’s ability to close customers and navigate through to installs of solar systems and powerwalls.
You will work alongside our Store Managers, Customer Experience Specialists and Owner Advisors to provide exceptional customer service. Supporting your sales peers and prioritizing teamwork is essential to achieving the highest level of success.
Responsibilities
Build Effective Teams

Lead, develop, and motivate high-performing sales teams
·
Set clear team targets and individual goals; hold teams accountable by driving performance management
·
Spend time in stores meeting with sales advisors to provide coaching and in-the-moment feedback
·
Create a culture of employee engagement and recognition
·
Conduct weekly team meetings, covering weekly sales trends and productivity
CREATE OPERATIONAL STANDARDS
·
Create and execute operational standards to ensure consistency and efficiency
·
Prepare and present weekly forecasts to executive leadership
·
Manage the administrative process of the sales team; ensure documentation is obtained and submitted promptly to the rebate, incentive and interconnection departments
·
Coach on software including SalesForce and internal design and project management tools
MEET OR EXCEED MONTHLY SALES QUOTAS

Meet or exceed monthly personal and team sales quotas
·
Manage your team to drive a high level of self-generated pipeline activity through referrals, events and sales networking activities
·
Manage your team to deliver exceptional customer service to provide the perfect experience throughout the sales & installation process, as well as continued support throughout ownership
·
Manage your team to display creativity / ingenuity in presenting solutions (financial, technical, lifestyle, practical) to customers considering but uncertain about going solar
·
Manage your team to represent Tesla in a professional and responsible manner
·
Manage your team to welcome all walk-in guests, answer questions pertaining to both energy and vehicle products and generally manage the customer’s Tesla experience in the most positive way

Manage your team to help Tesla maintain a healthy sales pipeline by collecting customer contact information and subscribing them to digital updates from the company
Requirements
·
Bachelor’s degree or above
·
3+ years sales experience with proven track record to meet or exceed goals
·
Self-starting entrepreneur with exceptional management skills and great attention to detail
·
Leadership experience – demonstrated ability to inspire, influence, and hold a team accountable to achieve a common goal
·
Results- proven track record of outperformance at the individual and ideally team level
·
Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task daily to meet deadlines
·
Effective demonstration of sales process, ability to identify buying criteria, eliminate objections, and develop solutions to close the sale
·
Ability to develop collaborative relationships and act as a well-respected, trusted partner that others want to work with
·
Must have valid state driver’s license, 2 year minimum driving record required with a clean driving history
