Tesla Energy is bringing battery technology to the grid to facilitate a renewable energy ecosystem and increase grid reliability in places where it is lacking. Tesla is leveraging its breakthrough powertrain technology and manufacturing scale to develop and deploy grid connected storage at residential, industrial, and utility scales. The Role

Be a key technical member of a cross functional business team that focuses on evaluating and defining new Tesla Energy opportunities, and working to deploy product against them. You will be the bridge between business development and Tesla’s technology as it applies to large scale utility projects and larger (100kWh+) behind the meter projects.

Responsibilities

· Act as the technical point of contact both internally and externally with customers to describe and articulate how Tesla’s technology can/would be deployed in various applications
· Evaluate integration context for battery systems (electrical, mechanical, permitting) and make integration recommendations
· Work with external counterparties to identify best technical fit of Tesla’s battery systems
· Develop technical or process documentation in support of project evaluation and deployments
· Manage integration and first stage deployment process, both on site and remotely
· Understand, define, and disseminate functional requirements from the market, coordinating with internal business team members

This is multi-faceted role where strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals – mechanical, electrical, and thermal – is expected. Background

· Top-tier academic background in engineering, preferably electrical engineering (power system background a plus)
· Demonstrated application of analysis, design and testing to solve complex engineering problems
· Experience in commercial settings preferable
