Main Responsibilities

Utilising your expertise in this area, you will assist in ensuring the success and relevancy of marketing campaigns by extracting and analysing CRM data as well as supporting the various Tesco businesses and other marketing functions on how to optimise our marketing communication through increased targeting.

The position will be based at our Head Office in Welwyn Garden City. Free parking is available, we are connected to London Kings Cross with a fast service (c. 25mins) and our offices include gym, canteen, petrol and dry cleaning services.

Role Accountabilities

The eCRM Data Scientist will be responsible for:

  • Applying statistical/machine learning techniques to recognise trends within vast sets of data
  • Analysing big data, conducting exploratory analysis and developing statistical models to evaluate business performance
  • Carry out analytical activities, such as behaviour segmentation or predictive modelling in R and SQL
  • Exploring data to discover underlying patterns and trends that support key business objectives.
  • Automating email campaigns in Unica

Ideal Candidate
  • Experience of working in the retail sector preferred
  • Proven ability in analysing and understanding systems and business requirements
  • Proven ability in delivering succinct reports using MS EXCEL and PowerPoint that are tailored to different situations and audiences
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and R
  • Working knowledge of Unica (can be trained)
  • Good understanding of the following techniques:

CHAID and C5.0

Linear / Logistic Regression

Clustering techniques (K-Means, Kohonen)

Neural Networks

Support Vector Machines

Cross-sectional and time series analysis

Analysis of variance

Text Analytics
