Main Responsibilities

Within this role you can expect to help increase sales through your reliability and commitment to checking and replenishing product display areas in line with company plans. Experience within merchandising or retail would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be given.

Merchandiser responsibilities include:
Utilise briefs and planograms to ensure tasks are carried out to the plan
Ensuring compliance is met to the expected company standard.
Checking product display areas and replenish to capacity, following plans and guidelines as required.
Ensure displays are clean and tidy, reporting any damages to store management.
Ensure all Off Fixture Displays and supporting Point of Sale are sited as instructed in stores
Provide accurate and timely information via mobile phone software (Phone provided)
Supporting and assisting the Tesco teams to provide the customer with the best possible offer and availability.
Helping Customers with any queries.
Completing all paperwork and administration tasks as required.

Ideal Candidate

Additional hours and days may be required to cover additional hours and holidays
Flexibility to start at 8am
Capable of lifting and bending large/heavy quantities
Ideally have experience of working in a retail or merchandising role
Preferably have a full driving licence and reliable transport to cover local stores
Able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with peers and customers at all levels
Excellent customer service skills
Possess good time management and organisational skills
A self-motivated individual with a flexible, can do attitude
Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally
Ability to work as part of a team and individually, using own initiative

Oakwood Distribution was set up in September 2008 to distribute and merchandise entertainment products in Tesco stores (DVDs, CDs and computer games). As a subsidiary of Tesco Holdings plc we only work within Tesco.

Since then we have expanded our presence into several other exciting categories including Books, Cosmetics, Tesco Bank, Gift Cards, Hair Care and Korbond Stitch & Sew.
