Main Responsibilities

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tesco business, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilities and measures:

·  Build customer-focused solutions to support BAU, Campaign and Strategic project delivery in line with business plans.
·  Develop functional and appealing web and mobile-based applications based on usability.
·  Develop existing and new user-facing features, e.g. Components
·  Provide website maintenance and enhancements and recommendations on how to improve the website in code and design, promoting usability best practice.
·  Use a combination of mark-up languages to write web pages.
·  Create quality mock-ups and prototypes under tight timelines.
·  Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting.
·  Assist an active program of MVT/ A/B testing as part of our test and learn approach.
·  Work collaboratively with UI and UX to translate design wireframes to actual code.
·  Work collaboratively with UI and UX to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation taking an active role on both sides defining the look as well as the way it works.
·  Responsible for all quality processes and ensuring QA testing and validation occurs in all the work we do prior to live.
·  Create CSS that is consistent across all browsers and platforms.
·  Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency.
·  Manage own workload to ensure delivery of projects and objectives, creating project timelines with responsibilities both for yourself and colleagues.
·  Write functional requirement documents and specifications.
·  Stay up to date with emerging technologies.
·  This role will best suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, is well organised, pragmatic and a lateral thinker with an inquisitive mind who is motivated to make change for the better and, most importantly, puts our customers first.

Ideal Candidate

You'll need to have demonstrated experience of:

·  Proficiency in HTML, CSS3, SASS/LESS, JavaScript, jQuery, REACT, AJAX, JSON, XML, GIT Responsive web design, W3C & WAI accessibility standards, knowledge of CMS platforms.
·  Exposure to other JavaScript frameworks including Angular, node, API development, unit testing and TDD/ BDD.
·  Agile methodologies.
·  An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
·  Excellent multitasking skills.
·  Excellent project management skills.
·  Ability to work in a team and alone.

Desirable Experience

·  Knowledge of SEO principles would be beneficial.
·  Knowledge of Photoshop would be beneficial.
