Our Finance team has one of the broadest perspectives in the business touching every part of Tesco PLC. We have a huge variety of departments from Tax and Treasury to core Retail Finance. No matter what your role, you will have the opportunity to impact our business and make changes for the better

Main Responsibilities

Tesco is a market leader in the world of Online commerce with the Non Food (General Merchandise and Clothing) business forming a key part of the wider offer. The Online market is forecast to grow 16.9bn by 2019 and is the fastest growing channel in the Retail sector.

As such, Online GM and Clothing is a key growth area for Tesco, the delivery of robust systems, processes and controls is critical for the Online business.

·  To act as a liaison between Finance, Technology and Operations
·  To ensure changes to finance systems are delivered with data integrity being the primary focus
·  Assist in/lead the delivery of cross functional projects
·  Become subject matter expert in operational, system and accounting process's
·  Partner across functions and advise on based on IFRS's and TGAP (Tesco Group Accounting Policies).
·  Implement controls to mitigate risks to the business
·  Manage systems improvement projects from a finance perspective.
·  Provide context to Finance on the impact of systems changes. i.e. how it will impact reporting/accounting etc.
·  Assist finance in explanation of anomalies in reporting
·  Document detailed analysis of current issues and suggest improvements
·  Document detailed requirements documents to allow IT to deliver systems change
·  Provide regular updates to management on ongoing and new risks
·  Maintain active risks and issues log
·  Manage Key framework control documentation to assist internal audit

Ideal Candidate

·  Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
·  Confidence communicator at all level of the business
·  Ability to handle multiple projects of varying lengths and prioritise workloads across them
·  Excellent analytical skills for problem solving
·  Ability to understand inter-dependent systems/process's and impacts caused by changes
·  Strong understanding of systems and data
·  Challenge current working methods to drive improvements
