BSO offers customers one single consolidated provider for all their IT and communications needs. Through O2 Unify customers can optimise their voice and data networks and prepare to face new challenges.
Your Role:
The Tier 2 NOC Engineer will provide proactive services for all managed customers, monitoring network infrastructure, raising incidents and processing change requests. Working with 3rd party vendors, such as BT, will also be required as part of the support operations.
Responsibilities:
-Responding to alarms from the network management system
-Logging tickets in the Service Management System
-Performing technical triage, diagnostics, and incident resolution
-Monitoring of WAN, LAN, Firewalls and Data Centre network infrastructure
-Coordination of field service engineers
-Engaging 3rd party vendors such as Service Providers (BT) and hardware maintainers
-Implementation and decommissioning tasks
-Knowledge transfer and on-the-job training to peer group
Demonstrable Experience:
-Prior experience of working in a NOC or managed services environment
-Sound diagnostic capabilities and basic fault resolution
-Good understanding of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing
-Understanding of the WAN technologies including MPLS, ADSL, Leased Lines, ISDN and LES
-Prior use of SNMP based monitoring systems
-Experience with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change management
-Experience of working with Service Management systems, raising, updating and closing tickets
-Excellent verbal and written communications in English
Essential Qualifications:
-Cisco CCNA level of accreditation or equivalent proven track record of experience
-ITIL Foundation
-Cisco CCNP
